2024 EnduroGP World Championship Kicks Off In Portugal

Round 1, EnduroGP of Portugal, Fafe, 5th - 7th April

It was the first round of the 2024 FIM EnduroGP World Championship at the weekend, with two of our Supported Enduro Teams racing. In the men's championship, Fast Eddy Racing Team riders Jamie McCanney, Mikael Persson and Harry Edmonson were competing and in the Women's Championship, Kiwi's Bike Shop Team rider Nieve Holmes was competing.

Jamie McCanney - Husqvarna FE 250

E1 Class rider Jamie McCanney ended day one in P4, missing out on P3 by a mere 3.24 seconds! Learning from a few silly mistakes on Day one and with better weather, Day 2 saw Jamie make the podium with a P3 in the E1 Class and took P8 in the EnduroGP. Heading into Round 2 next week, Jamie sits 3rd in the E1 Class Championship. Well done to Jamie!

Mikael Persson - Husqvarna FE 350

For E3 Class rider Mikael Persson, the opening round was also very positive. On both days, Mikael narrowly missed out on a podium by less than 2 seconds giving him P4 in the E3 Class Championship and P6 in the EnduroGP. Congrats to Mikael and we look forward to seeing him on the podium this season!

Harry Edmonson - Beta 250 RR

EJ1 Class rider Harry Edmonson improved as the weekend went on, learning and getting a better feeling for his new bike on each test he rode. Harry took P5 on both days, but closed the gap to P4 on Day 2 significantly. We look forward to seeing him pushing for podiums too as the rounds go on. Well done to Harry!

Kiwi's Bike Shop - Nieve Holmes - Sherco 250 SE-F

Nieve managed P4 on Day 1 and P7 on Day 2 for 6th overall in the Women's EnduroGP World Championship at the first round. Congrats to Nieve and we look forward to seeing her kick-on on from here at the next rounds and getting on that podium!

All in all, it was a solid first weekend's racing for our 2024 Supported EnduroGP Teams and we look forward to seeing what they can do over the whole season.

MXGP Of Sardegna

Round 3, Riola Sardo, Sardegna, 6th-7th April

Our Supported MXGP Team - JWR Honda Racing and Pro Rider Alvin Östlund, travelled to the renowned sand track and heat of Riola Sardo, Sardegna, for Round 3 of the 2024 MXGP Championship. Overall, a good weekend was had, Östlund surfing the sand on his CRF 450 R.

Timed Practice & RAM Qualifying Race - Saturday 6th April

Timed Practice set the tone for things to come. Alvin posted the 11th quickest time and then went on to finish P10 in the RAM Qualifying Race! This meant he picked up his first ever Qualifying Race point and gave him a good gate pick for Sunday's racing. Click here to watch Alvin practicing his starts on the Saturday.

MXGP Race 1 - Sunday 7th April

Alvin felt great going into the first moto and from the start everything clicked, cruising along in P10. However, only a few hundred metres from the finish line, his Honda had some minor issues, which unfortunately dropped him down a few places, finishing in P13.

MXGP Race 2 - Sunday 7th April

Alvin didn't get a good start in the second moto and when two riders went down in front of him, he had no where to go, so got caught up and was well towards the back of the pack. Being quite exhausted due to the heat, he did well to move up through the race and finish P18, which gave him P15 overall for the GP. Congrats to Alvin and the JWR Honda Racing Team on a solid result.

Other Supported Rider Updates

We have recently started supporting David Knight with performance parts for his new 2024 Kawasaki KX 450 F. The previous 5 times Enduro World Champion was back riding after having a new hip and competed in the Edge Off Road British Cross Country Championship in Driffield at the weekend. After 3 hours 20 minutes riding a brutal track, David felt great and took the Win. Congrats to David! Click here to see some photos and videos of David from the event.

Our Supported Junior Enduro Rider Tommy Rowan raced for the first time this season at Round 1 WOR Events at Coney Green. Competing in the 8-9 years old 65cc Class on his Husqvarna TC 65, Tommy took a dominant Win. Despite a bad start and tricky first lap due to a lot of rain overnight, he got his head down and took the lead after lap 1. He led for 1.5 hours, even managing to lap everyone in his class on a 12-14 minute lap. Well done to Tommy on the first of many wins this season!

Our supported Junior MX Rider Arthur King raced Round 1 of the Bridgestone British Masters at Oakhanger at the weekend. Arthur competed in the 85cc Class on his KTM 85 SX and on a brutal track, qualified P4 and then went 6th, 7th, 5th, 18th for 9th overall. Unfortunately, Arthur ran into trouble with back markers in Race 4 whilst running in 6th. Nevertheless, good result to be inside the top 10, congrats to Arthur!

Now that the Motocross and Enduro season has really started, we wish all of our Supported Riders and Teams the best for 2024. We look forward to attending a few events over the next few months, where we will be there supporting those Riders and Teams.
