Oversized Rear Brake Pedal Tips And The Benefits Of Installing Them

The positioning of the standard rear brake pedals are not always suited to every rider and like all levers on motocross, enduro and trail bikes most riders like to set them to the preferred setting and with the standard rear brake pedals you don't have many options. We listened to feedback from customers and supported riders looking for more variation and adjustability from the rear brake pedal and developed a range of oversized rear brake pedal tips for both our standard rear brake pedals and our Factory Series rear brake pedals. Below we highlight the features and benefits of our new range of oversized rear brake pedal tips and how they can improve your riding experience.

We Have Developed 2 Different Oversized Rear Brake Pedal Tips:

1. Fixed Oversized Fixed Brake Pedal Tip

Our fixed rear brake pedal tips have been developed with 3 mounting points, the 2 outer mounting points are oval shaped to allow for fitment on a wider range of brake pedals and the centre mounting hole is circular to hold the tip firmly in place. Our fixed oversized brake pedal tips can be mounted to all of our Factory Series rear brake pedals and most OEM rear brake pedals. The tips are 47mm long and 39mm wide which as you can see from the diagrams below is a 9mm increase in length and width compared to our standard Factory Series tips.

2. Flexible Oversized Rear Brake Pedal Tip

Our flexible tip rear brake pedals are incredibly popular due to the pivot design of the tip which can prevent the rear brake pedal from damage if caught on rocks, tree roots or in deep ruts so we also developed an oversized version of our flexible rear brake pedal tip. As you can see from the diagram below the oversized tip is 11mm longer and 9mm wider than our standard flexible rear brake pedal tips and approximately twice the size of an average OEM rear brake pedal tip. The oversized tip also provides better grip and traction than the standard tip featuring 14 stainless steel teeth compared to the 9 teeth on the standard tip.

The 3 Main Benefits Of Installing An Oversized Brake Pedal Tip:

1. Control

Our oversized rear brake pedal tips have a much larger surface area than the standard rear brake pedal tips, which helps you find the rear brake easier. The easier the brake pedal is to locate, the more confidence you will have when riding knowing that it's right there when you need it.

2. Grip

The oversized design allows us to incorporate more teeth. Both our fixed and flexible rear brake pedal tips come with replaceable stainless steel teeth that are stronger and sharper than the teeth on the standard rear brake pedals. This will also help to prevent your boot sliding off the rear brake in wet and muddy conditions.

3. Adjustability

Oversized rear brake pedal tips are a great upgrade if you wear a larger or smaller boot, the overall length and width of the tip is increased from the standard rear brake pedal tip and our fixed rear brake pedal tip can be moved closer and further away from the rider by using the 3 mounting holes, giving you more adjustability over the standard rear brake pedal tips.
